Definitely. I pace while reading almost every day. NTs think that this is weird.

I've found doing HRV daily via a cell phone app and a Bluetooth heart monitor has helped me manage ASD-related (or Asperger's-related if you prefer) anxiety but started seeing a few that would check continuously... 3 seem promising. Spire which seems to be a leader of available products but just see...

Do you have friends or family who are good with fashion? It would probably be a lot easier for somebody to give you advice if they know you in person. Ether this or politely go to the NT coworker who suggested it (assuming she's also a woman) and ask her to help you shopping at a local mall as you ...

It's interesting how life choices can determine if someone is diagnosed. I'm the only person in my family diagnosed but once I started reading up after my diagnosis, I realized half my mom's side (including her) was aspie/HF-autistic. However, they all stuck to fields where Aperger's/HF-Autism is OK...

It comes down to "Do you have reasonable hope that they'll have a good life?" If you think yes, you'll generally want kids so they can have that good life and you can see them; if you think not, you'll generally be against having kids.

I really like puns... even those jokes that most people drop when they reach high school (example: Why did the monkey fall out of the tree? He'd gone bananas). I don't know if this is a universal ASD thing but word means tend to be interesting for us.

Whatever you do, avoid scientology like the plague. It's just plain wacky.

The Autism connection to the alt right seems to have come from the "claim" by Milo Yiannopoulos that he is an Aspie because he can not get offended . A person who revels in the "post fact" world does not seem autistic to me. It seems like in the actual article he talks about aut...

This is all still fairly new to me so I don't have much meant for Autistics. I did recently buy a Tangle and I really like it, EXCEPT for the feel of the "rubberized" coating. That one little feature is ruining it for me. I wonder if they make one that's just solid plastic? Yes. I have a ...

I have one and I love it. A few comments. I. I'm adult-diagnosed ASD (clinical in my 30s - I always knew I was a little different but reject labels like this for years) and I take care of myself and a job pretty well for an adult let alone a clinically diagnosed autistic. I was diagnosed because I f...

Obviously, we'd want some regulations to protect the disabled... but the USA (the paradigmatic capitalist country) many such regulations exist, and many could be added without overthrowing the system. For those of us who live here, I think we're better off with stability and can't see the revolution...

I've found Catholicism very helpful with its regularity and peaceful worship. I tried charismatic on pentecostal churches a few times but they just didn't fit me. Much of it is so hard to describe in words.

I'm not quite as monastic as downeaster59 but I definitely tend a little that way.

As far as I understand, our brain is less inter-connected so the emotion part doesn't connect to the facial expression or language part as well. This separateness is also what helps us excel in specific things.
