it's sensory discomfort rather than pain. for example, some of us find a lack of sensory input to be an extreme source of discomfort and deal with it by stimming (rocking, flapping, making a noise, basically anything to self-stimulate your own senses).

me too, I've never really felt like I am a gender. I don't really experience any kind of identity - race, nationality, even age - I spent 2 years studying identity on a sociology course so I have a good academic understanding of how other people do the identity thing, but never experience it myself....

Autscape would almost fit into the last days of my holiday and I decided to attend when that opened.
