From my UK perspective: Early 70s: Lots of orange and brown. T. Rex and David Bowie ruled the airwaves. Knitted tank tops, usually in aforementioned colours with vivid patterns on the front were in. Collars got ever bigger. More people got colour TVs. Maggie Thatcher took away the milk of schoolchil...

I too am aromantic and childfree. While I feel sexual attraction, I have no intention of settling down into a relationship or having children. I'm very much fond of having my own space.

I walked into a British food store on the main highway where I live, yesterday morning. I haven't been the same since. I'm finding myself more drawn to The Kinks than to Schultz. I guess this is a good thing. I can't stop thinking about Britain, England in particular. I guess it's also a good thing...

Russell and Ron Mael once claimed to be the sons of Doris Day, giving their real names as "Dwight Russell Day" and "J. Ronald Day". Russell also claimed to be part Breton once- while Maël (with the diaresis) is a Breton name, as far as can be ascertained all their grandparents we...

I'm from the home of fish and chips and tartar sauce is far less common on them than mushy peas or curry (a thin Chinese-style curry, sometimes with raisins in).

I personally have curry on mine.

Sparks on a Never Mind the Buzzcocks from 2004.

They spent the entire show trying to get Ron to laugh. He only smiled at best, but towards the end he said he'd been preparing a sperm joke (in reference to the lyric "come together, right now, over me") and brought the house down!

As far as I'm aware, I'm mostly Celtic (Irish/Scottish/distant Welsh) with Anglo-Saxon (English), Berber (Moroccan) and very distant Norse (probably Danish from the Danelaw period). I MAY be part Italian. I've been debating about whether to get one of those Ancestry/23andme DNA tests. My mother's si...

Well, I wasn't born then, but from a British point of view it was miners' strikes, hooliganism and Maggie Thatcher.

At least the music was good.

To keep on the subject of music threads in General Autism Discussion, and for me to get a taste of how autistic minds enjoy music. Most sacred of all to me is Sparks but I also like T. Rex, David Bowie, Kiss, Adam and the Ants, ELO, The Sweet, Suzi Quatro, The Beatles, Ramones, Duran Duran, Spandau ...
