The Earlites had a domestic animal stolen from them by a UFO in the tribal stage one time . . . they were quite upset by it . . .

I have Earlites and Frankites - the Earlites were first and they are stuck in civilization stage (we go and try to convert cities and they just blow our cars up) and the Frankites are at tribal stage . . . I think I like cell stage and creature stage the best - you can just sort of fart around and p...

I'm SOOOOO addicted to Spore - though I haven't had much time to play with school - but now school is out until January . . . I can't get past the civilization stage though. I've never been good at video games so it doesn't surprise me - this one is just so much fun!

Fnord - that is a common sociological and psychological definition of sex and gender - I couldn't give you a reference for it, but I taught human sexuality in a college setting for 8 years and that was in our text book

I love Sinsboldly's statement! That is so me - I live alone, I am asexual, therefore I must be both male and female at the same time - though I lean more toward the male, despite my stupid biology . . .

To me, the real problem with PETA started when one of the co-founders quit about 10 years ago - he seemed to really keep the organization under control - and he quit because he felt like it was getting out of control - and it has just spiraled downhill from there . . . Orwell, do you know who the ba...

I'm an animal welfare advocate and vegan - don't trust anything PETA says - they started out as a good organization but I wouldn't give them a cent now.

I would have to agree - it is just a matter of body parts . . . I'm female and I absolutely detest traditional female roles and fashions - I am very masculine - therefore - the only thing that makes me female is my body . . .

nope - I avoid it whenever possible - but I live in Texas (where we apparently believe that public transportation is evil) so I have to.

I agree with everything you are saying - becasue I feel that way too - but I found the key is sort of like waht daewoodrow is saying - you just have to say 'Ok - that is how people are - but it doesn't matter' - I spent years and years and years pretending like I was normal - when I stopped pretendi...

Thanks - I had forgotten that Tony Attwood addresses so much of that - I've never met him but I've heard he is really nice. I keep saying I'm going to have to move to Australlia to work with anyone who knows anything about adult autism!

I am working on a Ph.D. and right now I'm in a developmental psychology class. In that class also is a guy who does employment services for individuals with disabilties and he has a client with AS right now who is causing issues at work because he thinks he is right about everything and won't follow...

I do drive but I hate it - especially on highways - there is something about how fast things move on the highway - if I drive too long I get dizzy and feel disconnected - but I have visual perceptual issues, as well I wish I lived somewhere with good public transportation, but I live in Texas where ...

That is sort of the way I feel about it, too - I resent the idea that, somehow, if I go to therapy enough it is going to make me want to be around other people, but some people really benefit from therapy so they should have that option . . . For severely effected autistic people I do think that som...

Hyper-social people, as I call them, immediately make me extremely suspicious - I assume that they are lying and will stab me in the back first chance they get - and I've not been proven wrong yet.

I didn't read all the way through your post - but what I did to get diagnosed is to find autism experts in the DFW area and then call them to ask if they would be willing to meet with an adult for a possible diagnosis of autism - I had education on my side, though - I am working on a Ph.D. in educat...
