Does anyone else around here get told that they're being mean, rude, etc, when you're really NOT trying to be rude or mean? Sadly, you are not alone. I had an incident where someone told me off for being rude just last Friday, and I really went over in my mind what it was that I said or did that co...

Sholf is right, it's a standalone more simple Photoshop. iPhoto (and Preview) already do a lot of basic things What kind of editing/manipulating do you need? I design scale models as a hobby (from 1:12 scale down to 1/144 scale) and I would like to make backgrounds (eg building a repeating backgrou...

What exactly is photoshop elements 8 (for Mac) - is it a stand alone type program - i.e. you don't have to have the Photoshop CS4 program or another "base" program installed first to use it, just install? I am confused, more so since I talked to a salesperson, who didn't really seem interested in se...

Pakled: Zoom. Love it. Think the boss wouldn't though if I told him to do that though, LOL! The x-rays we used to have delivered to the office were quite a bit bigger actually - I have a feeling that this is part of the problem, where they could once see the whole xray in one shot (so to speak) , no...

a puzzle... Say you have to view an x-ray. You are able to view this x-ray as a digital image on a computer screen from an outside source, over the internet. Problem - the computer screen is quite a bit smaller than standard old fashioned x-rays, and for a decent computer monitor that would accommod...

Plus, of course, if they even mention the 13-incarnation limit thing, they'll come up with some amazing reason why he doesn't die. They've been doing stuff like that in like every single episode. How many times have the daleks been dead? The Master, the Time Lords, the cibermen? How many times have ...

I still think the good o'l Doc is dangerously close to his final incarnation..he only gets 12, right?...;) I was wondering about that myself - when they invented that piece of lore, certainly they didn't realize the series was ever going to get as far as it has, so it was a bit of optimism at the t...

Ye gods, that is such an exact variation of my mother. The name of the game is "I'm right, and you're WRONG WRONG WRONG". You can do exactly what she says, and then be informed that you've done exactly the wrong thing. That summed up the week, alright  She put me in the role of caretaker, but ...

I recently attended a wedding in Mexico, and I was having a great time - EXCEPT for my mother. I traveled down with her, and she started out the trip unhappy - we took her away from her routine, her dogs, my dad and she wasn't looking forward to meeting new people. She is also deaf in one ear, and m...

One book that helped me so much that I don't know how I would have gotten through those years of menustration and puberty without it is "The care and keeping of you:the body book for girls" . Sounds better than the book I was given ... my mom didn't bother to explain anything, just handed me a book...

The thing I finally learned there is that the matter of turning the other cheek had been misrepresented to me. That is the problem about sayings and writings - people have a tendency to mess with the original intent to suit their own purposes. When we are instructed to "turn the other cheek", what ...

I never knew who the man was until about a few weeks before he died, when the comic "secret asian man" used his name in their story line and I looked it up to figure out the joke - never noticed any commercials/infomercials with him in them. Then, after he died, suddenly his commercials popped up on...

That is interesting that the cat allergy developed with little or no exposure to cats, but then again there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to allergies - they can just "appear" one day, they can go away the next, and they change over time . How long has it been since you have gone to the aller...

In defence of cats... I have a theory about why cats visit the people they do. Someone who doesn't want the cat anywhere near them I think makes their body language very inviting to the cat without meaning to - very non-threatening, no loud noises, no sudden movements, no eye contact - in eff...

Gift givers are moved by several instincts: 1. The recycler: These are gifts that the giver has received, decided they didn't like, and regifted. More of a way to clean their own closets. There have been a few gifts over the years I have received that are like this, and some have been okay, but othe...

It was nice of you to chat to her; probably not many people would have bothered. My guess is, your co-worker has encountered her before so she is aware that the little old lady is not prime customer material. Therefore, she feels she does not have to pretend to care, as there is nothing to gain fro...
