Forum: Random Discussion   Topic: Do you consider animals more important than people?

I've read a couple threads on here and most people were saying they prefer animals to people. However, would you actually value an animal life higher than a human life?

Doesn't the fact men commit most crime sort of disprove free will? If humans were truly in control of their actions beyond their natures and instincts, you would find men and women committing crimes at fairly equal rates. Does it have to do with testosterone making certain men (and a much smaller pr...

Someone could be a murderer, a racist or just a terrible person and I don't feel any hatred towards them. I still regard them as a human being with value, not a worthless "piece of crap". It doesn't mean I'd want to hang out with them, but I'd still wish them well in life. I actually get d...

I've heard that autism is 4 times more common in men than in women, though I wonder if it's because of certain stereotypes that prevent women from being diagnosed, for example the false premise that autistic people lack empathy which would lead to fewer women being diagnosed.

I don't think Aspergers can be considered an extremely male brain because if that were true, Aspie males would be "jockish" and stereotypically macho and if anything, most Aspie men seem passive and more feminine than most NT men. It would also mean Aspie females would tend to be "but...

Think about the person who tormented you the most at school. If you found that they had a painful cancer that would kill them in a few years, would you feel more pity or vindication?

Is it just me or do Americans strongly believe in karma and just-worldism? Someone on Reddit said that Americans are no more advanced than Indians were several thousand years ago, because we hold people entirely responsible for all of their misfortunes. Are you homeless or poor? You must be lazy, th...

sociopathic types generally don't have the fear response to punishment the way normal folk do. that is a big reason why recidivism is a thing. and I would wager there are no "cushy" American prisons, unless one's definition of "cushy" is perverse. I think when they say "cus...

While I personally think there are way too many people on death row today, I also think there are some crimes that are just too terrible that there is no other fitting punishment.

Would you say you're somewhat of an authoritarian liberal?

Strength is more than just physical though. I'm a bumbling 6 foot 1 and 250 pounds, but I'm NOT a fighter and I'm sure someone much smaller than me could kick my ass. I'm a lumbering 6 foot 3 and past 400 pounds, and really I'm just a big teddybear, but nobody has threatened me physically, in perso...

First they embrace capitalism, then they embrace "identity politics", and now the death penalty? While what Dylann Roof did is horrible, I think it's hypocritical to oppose the death penalty in most cases but to make an exception for hate crimes. Is murdering someone for money any more for...

Is there a link between autism spectrum disorders and chronic pain such as headaches and stomach aches? Generally if I go without eating for more than a few hours I will feel ill, and I regularly (multiple times a year) suffer intense headaches, especially following a cold. I've heard that autistic ...

While I'm not a yank I'd say thinks are not going well here in Scandinavia either. Finding a job is getting harder and harder, I hardly know anyone who has a job, aside from those who got positions from friends or relatives. There's political corruption, more crime, mass Immigration and outsourcing...

When I was reading this about the way the mentally ill are dragged through the criminal justice system due largely to lack of community supports and came across this sentence, I realized this country is run by evil people: The cyclical nature draws most of his ire. “Just think about how financially...
