I think decades of vigorous exercise have both aged me as well as helped me be leaner than I otherwise would be in my present old age.

4+ decades of aging results in me weighing nearly twice what I did in high school. :oops: but if you were to look at me [especially my face] I would not generally strike most folk as being obviously obese or even overweight, my height [6'3"] helps out a lot here.

I dreamt I was in my late sister's old living room in the first house she got when she moved out from my parent's place. we were on the shag-carpeted floor, surrounded by various electronic musical instruments, attempting to play bits from the opera "Carmen."

I dreamt I was in somebody's living room, sitting on a overstuffed black velour sofa, and on the corner table next to me was somebody's pet octopus but not an ordinary one- it was furry, with 7 short arms and one long arm which reached around me and slapped me on the back, waking me up from the dream.

when my body was fresh and young and wasn't stiff and didn't ache all over, exercise could be fun and life affirming. but in my senescence, it is an unavoidable chore. ouch.
