| That sounds eerily familiar... my husband is bipolar and his rages take this same course. Bipolar is sometime a comorbid with autism and can be somewhat controlled - or at least lessened - with medication. | I understand the point of small-talk, and its supposed importance in social interactions, but for me, when engaged in small talk, I feel like an animal trapped in a cage. | State trooper said 'go with the flow of traffic'. If everyone is 20MPH over the speed limit then its actually safer if you do that too. Of course we got that jewel of wisdom getting stopped on the turnpike doing 110... luckily he didn't get a clean clock on us thanks to truck traffic. |

| I have mild sensory issues with sound, smells and sometimes textures. I also have some mild sound processing issues which makes for an interesting combination of challenges that really just don't seem to make sense together. I can do loud concerts - but I cannot distinguish instruments in the music.... |

The more she visits, the more she sees how much I cover and tries to act as translator between my husband and I. My daughters school district is aware that I may be on the spectrum and they have made accommodation... |
