I have a DVR appointment on the 29th of this month. I'm willing to give it a chance. If nothing else, I can post a status update in this topic about my experiences with them in a couple weeks.

Congrats!

I was finally diagnosed this year, and now can qualify for Vocational Rehabilitation, which will also help me find a job. It's taken a lot off my mind, and it feels really good to have some hope. So I understand how relieved you must feel. :)

Casual touching, especially from strangers, is extremely unpleasant to me.

Ideally, I wouldn't want to be in contact with people for more than 3 days a week. Any more than that and it really starts tiring me out.

Stop going by society's definition of "normal." Yes, it's considered "normal" to get a career, spouse, and family, but there are so many people who are miserable in their careers, incompatible with their spouses, and mean to their children. When that much dysfunction and misery is considered "norma...

I am the same way; this why I exclusively play RPGs or adventure games; anything that doesn't require a lot of tactics or reflexes.

Aside from my parents, my affection mostly comes from the pets in my life.

I tried the relationship thing once and it was a slow-motion fiasco. I'm not wasting my time trying to form intimate relationships with people anymore (at least not NT people).

Most of my social life is through online games. I feel that the ability to talk via text (which I'm more comfortable doing) and the tendency for ingame conversations to stay limited to in-game topics helps a lot for me. It's basically, these people have the same interest as me (the game) so it's not...

I notice I talk to myself a lot when I drive, and it's probably because driving is very stressful for me.

I am a very fast silent reader, but I will stutter all over myself if I read aloud.

Get a crockpot cookbook and a crockpot -- they are simple and easy. Just toss everything in, turn it on, and let it do its thing. :)
Or, get a cookbook that focuses on simple meals so there isn't a lot of overwhelming work involved (that's what I do).

I love learning new things, and being in nature and living with my dog. I also believe in God and that I can learn something useful from every hardship I face. I like being alive -- most of my pain comes from other people. If I avoid them and stay in the real world (which in my mind is nature and th...

I have very mixed feeling about sex, now that I'm coming out of a decade-long dysfunctional marriage. I used to be very interested in it, but now I have lots of emotional hangups and self-consciousness issues. Generally, I don't care too much about intercourse itself -- I like foreplay, but orgasm f...
