My daughter was diagnosed at 8, but looking back there were some signs from when she was younger. She hated the feeling of water in any form, whether baths or washcloths. She would scream until she was completely dry. Even when she was just a few months old, she would stare at certain toys for over ... |

I am a 32 year old female with AS. I have been married for 10.5 years to a man with autistic tendencies. We do have some communication issues at times, but our strengths and weaknesses seem to compliment each other. |

I can be myself with my husband. He has some AS traits, although maybe not at a clinical level. I am also close to my sister and mom. Both of them show possible AS traits, too. Maybe that helps! |

I have always had people tell me I look a lot younger than I am. I have also had people tell me I always look mad or ask me what is wrong when I feel fine. I have the issue of not smiling with my eyes. I am female, but I guess I don't really "fake it" very well. |

You are not alone. I have had that happen to me numerous times during meltdowns. I have also had my forearms and hands get all tingly like they were losing circulation. It's very odd. |

I got diagnosed with AS after my 8 year old daughter did because I realized how many of her symptoms fit me too. My mom knows because she helped me make a list of things I did as a kid for the psychiatrist. I have also told my sister, mother-in-law, and the mother of one of my daughter's friends. Sh... |

I have stomach issues. I have been diagnosed with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) which accounts for part of it. My daughter, who also has AS, has issues too. She is lactose intolerant and has trouble with the bacteria in her digestive tract staying at the correct levels. I have read that peo... |

Too bad this doesn't seem to be a very active thread, but I am going to post here anyway. I am bipolar and a recently diagnosed Aspie and have been married for 10 years. My husband shows many Aspie traits, but he has some other issues going on so our psychiatrist won't diagnose him until those other... |
