Today - getting out of bed - generally, being an artist and a writer. Oh, and managing to raise kids to without strangling them, especially in those heady teenage years! :)

Question - are you a 'low functioning' sociopath? Do you feel the need to start malicious and hypocritical threads just for some twisted sense of superiority or just to try to hurt others?

When I found out I had Aspergers a lot of things suddenly made total sense to me that for years had driven me into costly rounds of psychotherapy - knowing what the problem actually is has been the greatest help to me - also knowing I am not nuts because I still can't tie my shoelaces properly or de...

I would thank you for it, I had never even heard of Aspergers until I was diagnosed with it! This was a couple of years ago, when it did not have such a high profile.
And of course I've hated people for their perfume....
Oh Yes, a number of ocassions sitting next to people on trains or buses I have been driven to near murder by this. Had to change my seat three times on one journey. Either that or throw up on them!

I don't think anyone here needs to justify how they live their lives! ASD is a disability. Since being on WP and reading about what others often have to endure in their lives I have downgraded my symptoms to 'mild' - I know ASD folk often lack empathy but there are limits!

They lifted that whole concept from Freud - an essay entitled 'das Unheimliche' -' the uncanny' The addition of Valley seems spurious, although I quite like it.

I was always falling over as a kid due to trailing shoelaces, and even now they won't stay knotted. Its embarassing having your husband tell you to tie your shoelace as if you were five!

That's good! There is a lot of anxiety caused by the need for diagnosis - mine came out of the blue a couple of years ago, as I was advised to go for an assessment by a therapist - I had never even heard of Aspergers before that. I needed to find out why I had such odd difficulties with everyday lif...

I find when I keep on reading my own stories I wrote, I will always find an error so I have to stop at one point and decide it's good enough. I don't see it as an act. I put that badly - see what happens when I don't edit? :) I feel like I am acting when I am with genuine, nice people because I fin...

relate too - also the mouth and teeth thing, I have never been able to eat in public and seeing other people eat makes me nauseous. Its the way the mouth seems to move all by itself - can't explain it but yuk!

I'm sick of compulsively editing everything I do over and over just so that it looks perfect or so it seems right or suits the situation. Not just posts, emails or work, but everything. In real life too. I don't even know what I mean by that. I always feel like a complete phoney with genuinely nice...

I have always had problems with middle class people in general who always seem to look down their noses at me. The middle classes in England especially have spent their lives developing just the right kind of nose to do this with - the amount of spats I have had throughout my life with people of th...

Is it possible to think you know what people are feeling when you are in fact wrong about it? Wouldn't that be a sign of autism? Someone on the spectrum wouldn't know this. How do you know you are right about how people are feeling? I have made a total fool of myself many times this way, being tota...
