I was a very late starter in terms of my adult milestones. I didn't get my driver's license until I was 48. My 30s were pretty good. My 40s were very depressing, but my 50s have, so far, been pretty good. I think it would have been a lot easier if I had started doing certain things earlier. I would ...

It's a personal growth plan based on making small steps every day to become independent. "Normal" is the wrong word, for that can never happen. I am getting a lot of help and inspiration from family and friends. I don't know if my goals can be achieved all the way, because I started so lat...

Yes, the older ones seem to be the slowest. The young ones treat the roads like their personal drag race strip. Then there are the stupid people who love to tuck in neatly on another driver's bumper. Really annoying!

To become more normal on the road to accomplishing my goals in life
To have an understanding of others (theory of mind) that may lead someday to me succeeding in dating and eventually marriage
To set foot on the tennis court again

Eating-I haven't gone without eating. I make sure to eat at least twice a day, and always have a good breakfast. Sleeping-I went through a period of two years where my sleep was next to zero, not on purpose. Bath, shower-Two days Friends-I do something outside the house quite often, although there w...

SentientPotato, I have moments like that, too. I have had brain freeze the last week or so. I gave a speech that was, for the most part, okay, but I had a couple of embarrassing moments in which I had uncomfortable pauses and used the imprecise word "things." That was embarrassing because ...

I have been consistently looking for ways to better my situation, employment wise. So far, I haven't been successful in terms of upward mobility, but I keep trying. I wonder, however, if I need to use a different tactic.

I am probably the person who began achieving adult milestones (apart from education, a useless metric in retrospect) the latest of anyone here. I didn't get my driver's license until I was 48. I have never had a full time job (although I have worked at my current workplace for sixteen years, amazing...

I am not successful in the way you describe, but I have been employed at my current workplace for 16 1/2 years and I have a very good life with a lot of activities. I haven't found success in the dating world, but I hope to someday. I knew I was different all my life. When I was growing up, I had fe...

I hate when people throw cigarette butts on the ground. It's really disgusting. I even saw a cigarette butt on the floor inside the library. Some people are just pigs.

I'm not jealous of couples, but I would like to have a relationship someday and get married. At my age, though, it looks as though that may never happen. I can't fail too many times at my age. I'm afraid I made my emergence into the world too late and there may just not be anyone there for me. Until...
