For those of us in Academia and/or students and/or interested laypersons, PLOS is requiring full open access to all data for each article submitted.

Hopefully this will bring much more prestige to PLoS one. It has the reputation of a dumping ground for data that while well researched, isn't publishable elsewhere. Hopefully this policy gets extended to PLoS ONE and the like, which tend to have much higher impact factors.

Welcome to the site!!

We badly need these groups to start taking steps toward ever greater openness. Hopefully, this will be part of a movement in that direction.
