Vista??? I don't think I will upgrade to that. Not if I have Linux. Linux and Beryl :).

Beryl runs on less sophisticated hardware yet does so much more than Aero.

i think the correct terminology would be "downgrade"" not "upgrade"

Yeah, considering the bugs and stuff,it is a downgrade.

Wanted to give an update on my Vista problems.

I bought a Dell laptop with Vista and Office Home and Student 2007 pre-installed. Used the Calendar program that was already loaded, and when I restarted the computer, got an error message (day 1 of computer life). Started getting LOTS of error messages from about 10 different programs. Called Dell, after hours and hours on the phone, they decided to send me another computer.

Ran Calendar on new computer, and got same error message. Concluded that Vista and Calendar (both Microsoft, ahem) were incompatible. Have not opened Calendar since, and have not had any further error messages. So as long as I don't run Calendar, Vista has run like a charm. Quite happy with it.

Have tried to delete Calendar from computer without success. Still trying to get Dell or Microsoft to tell me how to do it, as I'm worried that at some future date it will cause problems. To those of you who understand OS's, is this something I should worry about? Or should I just not worry about having an incompatible program on machine as long as I don't use it??
