What software do you run?
What software (operating system and applications) does everyone use? Post your favorite pieces of software here.
I triple-boot Mac OS X Leopard, Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit), and Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex 64-bit. Given that I alternate between these different systems (this week I'm using Vista) I tend to really like cross-platform software, the more so when it falls under the GPL.
Programs I use in all three operating system:
Mozilla Firefox 3
Firefox add-ons: ColorfulTabs, AdBlock Plus, Speed Dial, All-in-one Sidebar, Autopager, DownThemAll (download accelerator), Fast Video Download, FoxMarks, StumbleUpon, TwitterFox
Mozilla Thunderbird
Mozilla Lightning calendar add-on to Thunderbird, or Sunbird stand-alone calendar
Pidgin IM (the Mac version is called Adium, but it's the same thing)
LyX LaTeX editor
OpenOffice (v. 3 for Mac/Windows, still on 2.4 for Ubuntu since Canonical hasn't spoon-fed OOo3 to me through the main repos)
Opera as a back-up web browser
Seamonkey to a lesser extent (my Ubuntu Seamonkey is outdated, and I only really use it in OS X)
mplayer
vlc media player
Programs I only have in Mac OS X: Safari (which I never use)
Apple Mail (which I never use)
Jinn and Decaf FICS clients (don't like either of them very much)
Microsoft Office 2008 (bloated, but it has some decent features)
NeoOffice (Apple port of OOo from before v.3 offered native Aqua support)
Sage
Programs I only have in Vista: Microsoft Office 2007 (very full-featured, but it sucks on compatibility)
BabasChess (hands-down THE greatest FICS client of all time)
Spybot Search & Destroy (who needs malware protection in Mac or Linux?)
Avast! Antivirus (who needs antivirus in Mac or Linux?)
IsAdmin FireFox add-on to limit user privileges that FireFox can execute
Programs I only have in Ubuntu: eBoard (FICS client that is very nice, in some ways easier to use than Babaschess, but not as full-featured)
Rhythmbox
Banshee media player
Compiz Fusion
AbiWord/Gnumeric
Sage (OK, I have this one in Mac and Linux)
Maxima, Mathomatic, Octave, etc
So what programs does everyone else make use of? Any recommendations of a good, killer app I'm missing?

I never did take a liking to KDE (which I presume is what you're running). Kubuntu seemed really laggy (almost as bad as Vista+Symantec, and that's REALLY bad) and even Sabayon with KDE wasn't as fast as Ubuntu/GNOME.

OSX:
evernote
texpander
irfanview replacement, forgot the name
various design software
Skitch
Windows:
Texter
Irfanview
various design software
Everything (Spotlight like)
@Orwell, interesting you don't use Skitch, Evernote or TabMixPlus

Skitch doesn't look too interesting, but I'll give Evernote and TabMixPlus a try.
I forgot about an OS X app I use: Skim (pdf reader) as a replacement for the bloated and featureless Preview. It's MUCH better.

In reverse order of frequency, over the last 500 lines, roughly, as user and/or root:
ls ps cd whois du vim df find diff man rm grep cat while less
top wget mv md5sum od mkdir lspci tidy tail apache2ctl pushd
ping cp for echo wc sed route intercalc ick fdformat dd chmod
apropos uptime uname swapoff rmdir locate history head eject
bc umount ufw swapon slocate sdiff rkhunter info fg debconf
ddclient zip sync mydir mount ifconfig firestarter file dmesg
date crontab
Oh... and SeaMonkey.

<<"norton" antivirus
Most of the time my os is WinXP. (Home and Work) though I've got a laptop running Linux.
Browser - Almost 100% Firefox though I also use (Chrome, IE7 and Safari on occasion)
Email/Collaboration - Always Lotus Notes 8.5
Other Apps
- Almost the entire google suite Blogger, Gmail, Sites, Search, Docs, Analytics, Talk, Picasa etc...
- Office 2003 (Word, Excel and Powerpoint only - and even then, not much since Notes and Google Docs does it all anyway)
- Acrobat Writer (and PrimoPDF)
- Windows Media Player (because I haven't found anything better yet - not that it can get much worse either)
- Nero
Specialist Apps
Graphics
- Mostly Corel Draw 7 because it's so fast (because of its age).
- Sometimes; The Gimp (bitmap) and Inkscape (Vector)
Projects
- Gannt Project
These days I hardly do any development and whatever I do is usually in Notes/Domino or Notepad. I occasionally use VB6 but never for anything important.
Function:
OpenOffice (Writer and Impress)
Mozilla Firefox (Basic brushed, media converter, and STOP! Hammertime!)
Avast! virus scanner (Saved me from the evil Dr. Norton)
Fun:
MSPaint (In use because of its simplicity)
iTunes (Had my iPod before I even owned my own computer)
Maplestory (First download MMO I've played)
2Moons (was persuaded by a forum friend, but has been gathering vurtual dust)
Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine (Current favorite MMO)
Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex, on both the lappy and tower. Both have wine so that I can use Ms Orrifce when I need to . The other invaluable software (collection) Hirens Boot cd just because the rest of the family refuse to use Linux and therefore keep crashing their computers. If only I could charge for all those recovered files
I use XP occasionally, generally to play games

My brother uses Vista, ubuntu, firefox, eve online, skype.
Mom uses xp for her work laptop, has xp on her eeepc, but ignores it for my ubuntu laptop. Shes also got a computer upstairs with xp that she ignores.
Yeah, my moms got 3 computers.
My sister uses xp on her ancient machine, and dad uses whatever we help him with.
3 households, 12 computers. Five of those are mine.

I installed Ubuntu once and it completely destroyed my paying relationship with Microsoft.
That would be because it is a browser, an email client, an html editor, and more, all in one integrated lump (and hence is the app of choice on Puppy Linux, to get the maximum functionality out of the smallest overall package).
For stick-in-the-muds like me, it is also the direct descendent of Netscape. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla
And, I like being able to click to fold away the toolbars, say, rather than fiddling with all the garbage furniture of FF/TB. I.e. ultimately, it's friendlier.
And... I'm sure there are other reasons... like me preferring to be "different"
