If use Surgical Sprit for DNA ethyl precipitation, will this be a problem because it also contain methanol?

Hmm. I'm trying to call up a mental image of the bottle of alcohol used. White, rectangular, but I can't remember the label. It's been over 35 years since I precipitated DNA.

I have never worked with DNA, but I guess that if it is not damaged by ethanol than a trace of methanol in the ethanol should not matter.

It will be best if you look around WP for a DNA expert or ask LabPet.

She knows a lot more than me about that type of thing.
