Did you know that "Hong Kong Fooey" (correct spelling) was from 1974?

Up until recently, no I didn't. All I knew was that it was an old cartoon that was made during my mom and dad's childhood.

All the Land Before Time Movies: The first one was an Irish movie but the rest were made in America but animated in either Korea or Taiwan.

Sorry, this page is really slow because of all the videos.

I find myself asking, "why did we watch what......we watched?"

As of this writing, no mention of 'Gilligan's Island' - (LINK) at bottom of post in this reply.

Two of the show's characters The Professor and Gilligan seemed like two examples of personas with Aspergers.

The shows (or broadcasts) that had value were the nightly news (national and world news) when actual journalism was "in the loop!"

PBS shows: The Electric Company, and many of the PBS documentary, and science-orientated shows.

Mary Tyler Moore, (and show's spin-offs) were good to watch.

For comedy, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in, and even "All in the Family" i.e., Archie Bunker had that mix on funny, and serious moments.

The early to mid 1970s NBC's lineup of Saturday Morning Cartoons e.g., The Pink Panther. The Warner Brother Cartoon's e.g., Bugs Bunny, Wiley Coyote, and the Road-Runner.

Who can forget those good shows that many felt got cancelled too soon?

***Last paragraph asked, and gave one (of many) answers as to why is Gilligan’s Island still so popular?

I'd love to watch mainland European domestic TV from my childhood! No doubt a lot has been released but without English subs.

Two replies back (as of this writing), the 'Gilligan's Island' series received mention. Without the comedy, this show would not have been so popular!

I wanted to add a few of those shows, and perspectives in another reply. Again, asking, "Why did we watch what...we watched?"

I always felt that cartoons were meant to be funny; before discovering 'Speed Racer.'

Oh Yes, couldn't get enough of 'The Six Million Dollar Man' - the good guy, versus the bad guys formulas-- where the good-guy usually wins within the hour allotted for a show!

The comedies of 'Happy Days', and 'Laverne and Shirley' were also favorites. Viewing these shows by today's standards, these shows appeared oversimplified, and less funny!

The 'Little House on the Prairie' series was that first lesson that the book (that the 'Little House" series was based-on) was an important lesson that books, and TV-shows/movies based on books are two VERY different things.

How often do we hear that a movie, or TV-show didn't do the original story (that a movie/show was based-on)justice?

Remembers those U.S. police dramas from the late 1960s through much of the 1970s? Always loved the action -scenes. A few of the several shows remembered: Dragnet, Adam-12, Ironside, and The Rockford Files.

For the light drama, the C.H.I.P.S series was enjoyable!
