I really like Psycho and Halloween (1978 version).

I hate scary movies, they give me a negative feeling and keep me up all night.

Ever since seeing poltergeist at a halloween party, I avoid scary movies.

I guess my favorite would have to be Tom Savini's remake of Night of the Living Dead. I watched it before I saw George Romero's version and I thought it was better than the original, and it's the film that really got me hooked on the zombie sub-genre.

There are so many great horror films that it's hard for me to narrow it down - but here goes.
Angel Heart

The Thing (the John Carpenter remake)

Cthulhu

Reanimator

Just to name the cream of the crop off the top of my head.

How could I have forgotten The Shining? Or for that matter, The Exorcist?

Probably something like Threads or some of the George A. Romero zombie movies.

For some reason I've always really liked 28 Days Later. I like the idea that the zombies are not walking dead, but that they're infected. They're still living, breathing humans........except they want to eat you. Armin Meiwes would be in cannibal heaven if that happened in real life.

I personally don't understand what has happened to the zombie sub-genre. Maybe it's just me, but I used to think zombie films were about being scary. Now they've become more actiony and are basically used to say "Humanity sucks, we all deserve to get eaten alive so nature can take back the earth". At least that's the impression I've gotten from George Romero's recent zombie films.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Candyman. The Crow. Rosemary's Baby. Jacob's Ladder. The Others. Shaun of the Dead (not really scary I know). The Shining. Let the Right One In. IT. The Descent. The Omen (original). Dawn of the Dead (remake). 28 Days/Weeks Later.

Dammit, I can't pick a single one, or even a top 10. There are many more than these.

I like the new breed of zombie films. Their speediness makes them a bit more alarming.

I'm distantly related to Tippi Hedren from Hitchcock's The Birds! I think my fave scary flick is Jaws... or In the Company of Wolves... or Fulci's City of the Living Dead... or Chopping Mall... Dang it! There are too many wonderful movies for me to pick just one.

In recent years, I would say Trick 'r Treat is one of my favourites. Too bad it never received a decent theatrical release (though I saw in theatres as part of a festival.

My all-time favourite scary movie will have to be the original Halloween.
