Dark Knight Rises… Does Nolan have the guts?

So, I was just watching the teaser for Dark Knight Rises. The big point seems to be that this is the final chapter. THIS IS THE END.

This movie also has Bane in it…
After experiencing the extremely dark end of Arkham City, I wonder… Does Nolan have the guts to be that dark or darker?
Would Nolan actually let Bane do what he was created to do in the comics?






…and more importantly, would the fans ever forgive him?

Personally, I think it would be the greatest, most ballsy ending EVAR!!!1!
