I love Red Dwarf, and I feel ashamed that I wasn't aware of this. Probably just an out-of-sight, out-of-mind thing because the original series has been off of Netflix Instant Streaming this year. But from what I hear it's coming back in January, so I will get to enjoy the smeggy goodness all over again! :D

Anyway, I hope that they will eventually put Red Dwarf X on Netflix too. :)

I've been watching them. It's a bit of a weird channel they are showing it on because it's not one that a lot of people really watch! The new episodes, without giving anything away, are much more like the series 1-4 episodes and in my opinion are brilliant!

We've recorded all of the old episodes and we're watching them again, before watching the new series, although we watched the first episode. It had the same feel as the old ones, which was a good sign. Series 9 was pretty unfunny, maybe because of the lack of the studio audience. My daughter (6yrs) has actually got really into it. There aren't many crude jokes, but she wouldn't get them anyway and never asks for clarification. It's pretty clean family viewing, most of the time, in my opinion.

Loved watching Red Dwarf every Friday night on PBS. Hope the new stuff makes it to the U.S. someday.

I thought series 9 was awful! It wasn't just the lack of studio audience for me, but also the absurd storyline where they met Craig Charles on Coronation Street! I just thought it was ridiculous! I felt the last few series which Doug Naylor did by himself were not as good as the ones they did together. Whether they like it or not, they have to work together to create the comedy gold!

I've been watching season 10 and I love it! Download them from bolt.cd
It is updated with some new effects and sets, but it manages to retain all the charm of the old seasons. I'm impressed.

It makes me really happy to hear that Red Dwarf X is just as good as the early seasons! I was worried that it wouldn't be.
