As much as a pariah Daria is supposed to be, I think most people who see the show desperately wish they could meet her- or at least take her along to parties that they didn't want to go to. :) HUGE Daria fan over here- my family is constantly quoting the show to each other. "Pizza!" "Ahh!"

Also, I always assumed that Daria was on the spectrum. C'mon. She has to be. Especially being as sensitive as she is.

Yes, I remember it but it never aired in Canada when it first came out. They actually air the episodes on MTV Canada now and I really enjoy them.

I LOVED Daria! I obsessed over the show when I first discovered it. Watched the episodes again and again. One reason I liked it so much was because I identified with Daria so much. Now I know why...

I already posted a thread on Daria:

I LOVE Daria! I've watched the entire series at least two times over, and it's just as good everytime I go back to watch more episodes. I really admire Daria, actually- the way she tends to stick to what she believes, how she ultimately sticks to her beliefs and morals, and strays away from societal norms if she feels it's wrong- but doesn't purposely avoid them.
Her moral dilemmas and choices are very easy to relate to, and most of the characters show a lot of character development. One of my favourite characters was Stacey Rowe- I really connected with her.

Wait, are you talking about the same Stacy who rolls with Quinn and the rest of the Fashion Club in the series?

I was always a fan of Daria. It was on while I was in high school and I related to her a lot. My sister and I had a bit of a joke about it because she was so much like Quinn and I like Daria. There was also the fact that our (step) father was insane and our mother was a workaholic. I had brown, poofy, curly hair and glasses and I loved literature. My sister was popular, thin with long blondish red hair. The main difference was that my best friend was more like Trent than Jane.

There were a few times when we would watch an episode and there would be some scene that was an exact replica of something out of our lives, it was all kind of creepy in a very enjoyable way.

Yep. Unlike Tiffany or Sandi, she actually showed a lot of depth. Like Quinn, I think she was actually considerably intelligent, and just had some emotional problems. She's just so interesting

Loved that show. Was in high school when that played in TV. I always wished I could have that effortless dry wit with me when someone annoying had to speak. Although, I have to admit that I watched the show just as much to laugh at Jake's crazy antics ("Why don't they put Marmaduke to sleep?") :P

That Stacy? I personally don't find her appealing because she's kinda clueless and needy. She usually goes along with what others say or tell her what to do. Stacy also believes that without the Fashion Club, she'd have nothing better to do with her life. Stacy is too much of a follower if you ask me.

I had Daria open in Media-Player when I came across this post.

It was on when I was younger, but I never got into it at the time, I think it was just on at an inconvenient time of day so I never watched it, just heard about it (and that only from one person).

Just recently I started watching it and have very quickly watched the whole series, and am now watching favourite episodes for the second time.

I like the show and can identify with Daria as a character. For some stupid reason it's not out on DVD in the UK, this afternoon I watched a 10 episode marathon on VIVA, a freeview channel owned by MTV, most of their programmes are crappy "reality" shows about the Kardashians (whoever they are) and other disposable z-list celebrities. I only watch it for the reruns of Daria, Spongebob and The Fresh Prince!
