Im 21 years old and live in north carolina. I found out about autism about 2 years ago and I it finally answered some of my questions on why the way I am. I found this forum soon after that and I thought this place was sort of cool. But I don't see many black people up here especially the females. Im kinda goofy but laid back also. I added a poll just to be funny

BTW, I don't see why you'd be 'alone' if there were only white people here. It's just a shade of skin.

nah it ain't nothing like that i just wondered if there where any black aspies out here because it's hard to meet aspies of any race in real life.

My best mate is an aspie and she's black and so was a couple of my childhood friends...
yet our school was in the worst area for racism. 
that's the downside of it.

Ah k. If you go to college there should be somekind of club for that. Though that can change alot depending on the college. Mine just happened to have an aspie lounge/support place and loads there. Though being in Norfolk, most of us were white (with the few others being east-Asian).

I had an Aspie friend in college, and I actually joked at that idea that we (me and him) should have started an Asperger's group, but then we realized that most Aspies prolly wouldn't have joined because they'd feel too awkward lol
