LOL no, the opposite actually. Something went wrong with the posting. It wasn't showing up as loading, I was still stuck on the posting page, yet clearly, everytime I reclicked to try and hurry things up, it added me again

It's alright, I have made mistakes like that before.

Well, it was sort of a bit of a practical experiment. Having heard plenty of stories of people who got so frustrated with their computers (or with lousy software on them) that they shot their computers, and having two dead monitors to play with, I decided to see what it would take to go completely through a monitor from front to back.

(I tried 9mm, .45ACP, .44 magnum, 7.62mm NATO, and 12-guage rifled slugs. The M14 achieved full front-to-back penetration with two rounds about a half inch apart. Nothing else did, although the 12-guage slugs certainly blew hell out of the inside.)

The new userpic is one I took yesterday after repairing the braid on my West Point jacket. I'm not entirely happy with it, and I'll try to get a better one sometime in the next few days (and I'll post it when I do), but it's at least current.

Hi man, my old monitor died a few days ago! Now I have a new one, how do you recommend to get rid of the old one?

a bat is one option, like KBABZ said :P

Well, if one wishes to be a Good Citizen, the best answer is to find a computer recycler in the area. They may even give you a few bucks for it, whereas the local landfill is more likely to want a few bucks from you to take it.

Of course, if Good Citizenship is not among your criteria, the sky's the limit. :) Just don't inhale any of the phosphor dust if you break the tube; it's toxic.

This is a picture of me at a Toastmasters event last year. I haven't really changed much. This is how I look every day, but I don't smile as much.

Agreed. Why NOT smile a little more often? That's actually one of the more attractive qualities of...well, just about everyone, actually. It took me way too long to realize that I was repelling a lot of people by adopting a bit of a perma-scowl, thinking that I was scoring points with the whole aloof loner thing. Smile exudes confidence, confidence yields success.
