Hello.

My four yearold son was diagnosed this past Wednesday with Asperger's. I'm a bit of a wreck about it. I'm relieved, I'm confirmed, I'm scared and overwhelmed.

I had to quit my job to stay home with my little guy because he was kicked out of daycare. They didn't want a kid with Asperger's there.

My mother passed away when I was a teenager and I have no contact with my father. I have no other family. I'm married to an amazing man who, like me, has little in the ways of a family. As a result, we have zero support network. Because of my son taking so much bandwith, it has been extremely difficult for me to maintain friendships. This has left me, aside from my husband, entirely alone.

I hope to find a friend here. I hope to learn and grow, to rejoice and grieve, to be the best mother I can to my very special little guy.

Good, you've found your way here. Leaving the workplace to stay home, while a great for the little one; is a surprisingly isolating move. Shock to the system. I know. You did the right thing.

I see you've already found the Parents Discussion forum. There are some fabulous heads & heatrs there.
