hey, my name's Ryan. junior in high school, sixteen and-a-half years old. i haven't been properly diagnosed with aspergers, but i am positive i have it. i only just found out last month when i finally decided enough was enough and went on the internet to get to the bottom of my weirdness. it was actually pretty reassuring to read all about aspergers, i mean, all these very vivid memories came back to me and everything made sense.

soooo anyways, now i've finally stumbled upon what appears to be a very friendly site. i hope to visit as often as i can, so see u all around sumtime.

Aah, yes! Another user! Glad to hear that you were able to find out just by searching. This is a very friendly place to be and chat, and I've made multiple mates and I've only been here for about three days! I was diagnosed with Asperger's (or AS, as it's called 'round these here parts') when I was 10, but I've only come to fully aprecitate it a few months ago before my 16th birthday. Resolve, adventure, triumph, turmoil and a bloody good time await you here!

Welcome, I'm Paula and I'm in a similar situation. It's been almost 6 months since I first read about AS.

^Ahah, he didn't mean a Nintendo DS. Nice to know you've got one though, sound like a cool gadget (see? PSP owners aren't ALL biased!)! What he meant be dx is diagnosis. Not sure where the X comes from, kinda like the X in X-mas, but there you go! So what he meant to say was 'When are you getting a diagnosis?'

ahh, i gotcha. see i didnt even know that at all. i thought u mighta been pointing out my little mistake in my previous message and laughin at me. sorry raph. man, isn't it just way too easy to misunderstand someone's true message when it's typed out instead of spoken aloud? That happens all the time on MSN messenger (which i rarely use nowadays).

Oh yeah, anyways, in answer to your REAL question, i am planning on getting a diagnosis, but not til i tell my parents. see, im not sure they know i have aspergers cuz i dont ever really confide in them in EVERY miserable moment i have at school. im sure they woulda figured it out if i had, but now i gotta figure out to tell them. i myself only found out in early august this year. ahhh i remember it so well....

i was having a pretty lame lonely summer, and one day im sittin in church with my family and i start thinking of all kinds of miserable moments i've had socially in my life (my mind realllllly wanders during the sermon). finally, i get the idea that maybe something really is wrong with me, that it is outta my control. i go online later that day and do some searching. i read about autism and briefly considered that cuz, well im such a dunce i dont know half the info everyone else my age seems to know  but that sounded too severe but it DID eventually lead me to a site on aspergers. and bingo!

perhaps in the next few weeks or so i'll be ready to tell them. and then maybe i can talk to them about getting diagnosed.
