Tethys from Australia here.
I was misdiagnosed with ADD in 1975, self diagnosed as Aspergers in 2008 and clinically diagnosed as Aspergers with depression and complex PTSD in 2012.
I am an activist for the environment, human rights and animals. I am vegan, of course, otherwise I would be an hypocrite.
Hi.
I also want to do a big awareness/fund raising event for women on the spectrum but need guidance to the most ethical and relevant nonprofit group in Australia with zero affiliation with autism speaks.

Are you a Pratchett fan by any chance? :)

Hi Raleigh
Sir Pratchett will live forever in the hearts of readers. Since the year he published "The Colour of Magic" I have been a fan.
Have you read many of his books?

Hi Shahunshah
For the last 20 years I have been involved in many projects here and overseas. Mostly emergency rescue work, a few years of rehabilitation and raising wildlife for release, demonstrations and protests, crew aboard Sea Shepherd's MY Steve Irwin, conducting surveys and research for animal welfare, film nights, running charity fundraising events, school presentations, etc. I'm a bit quieter now and mainly donate to rescued farm animal sanctuaries and wildlife/habitat protection initiatives. In recent years I try to promote animal cruelty free lifestyle choices through example, living a straightedge vegan life.
How about yourself?

Im only 16 so to be honest I have not done allot but my main interests are history and politics and Id like to do something with it.

Being a vegan sounds cool your on the right path I think. My mum is a vegan as well. I haven't reached that stage yet.

What did you do with emergency rescue work?

I thought as much when I read your location. :P
I believe I've read almost all of his books - some several times over.
Love, love, Pratchett.

Raleigh, which are your favourite? What do you think of the Long Earth series? These have become my favourite, there is something in each character I connect with and I'd love a Lobsang as a travel companion.

The emergency work was for oil spills, marine mammal standings, releasing animals caught in sharknets and on drumlines, rescuing roadkill orphans as well as a year of emergency phone hotline work.

Is your user name a reference to the ancient ocean?

I am a big geography/geology fan.

Hi Tim_Tex
In a way it is, yes. I am not sure which was named for what. The ocean may have been named for the Titan goddess Tethys, wife of Oceanis and mother of all fresh water flowing into the oceans or the goddess was named for the Tethys Sea.
Which way around do you think it is? Is the myth older or younger than who named the ancient sea?
Another Geography fan here too! I wanted to be a geologist but after failing the exams and assessments it remained an interest instead. I'm currently trying to memorise the chronostratigraphic chart to help read exposed strata systems.

Hi Polly,
Thank you!
I find any life different to my own fascinating. Here in Australia we are super fortunate to be immersed in diversity and beauty. As long as we stay curious the world and all who inhabit it will always be fascinating.
