I heard just having a degree makes your life better.

Is this true. Is this oversold to Americans

yes, the american system of higher ed is largely a racket. this said, the folks possessing sufficient of the right stuff to get a degree in the first place, have enough on the ball to succeed in life in general.

Would that were so! I could but will not cite cases.

But a lot of those who can survive the chaos of the modern university are equipped to work amidst adversity.
