Shutting my Brain for a least a Little While
So I have a college course.
On Saturdays I'm in class for 4hrs.
On Wednesdays I'm in the same class for 2hrs.
I have a hard time shutting off my brain. By this I mean, since I'm the type of person who seeks personal knowledge and reads a lot of articles and documentaries, I always add in contrarian views in the classroom since I see how they apply. Sometimes what ends up happening is I can guess the information before the teacher can even get to it.
How can I shut my brain off for at least a little while in order to make sure that I don't spll all current knowledge out of my filter? It doesn't seem like the teachers appreciate my rather awkward and strange position and sometimes rather outside view.
I need to find a way where my filter stays filtered.
Stick with what you are doing if it feels like it makes sense what how you approach things. An abstract approach is useful in my opinion. If everyone was taught the same and thought the same we'd probably miss something important.
However, if it is too distracting for yourself you could try a relaxing herbal supplement such as Rhodilia, which is said to be very calming.

Thing is that I keep getting on teachers bad sides. And sometimes I feel my grades suffer because I suffer to hit the teachers on a personal level. I come in there obviously at an equal level as the teacher and they feel like I'm questioning their authority. But I ask loads of questions due to my own natural curiosity because I want to know, need to know, and want to see how each piece of knowledge attaches itself to another.
Knowledge isn't separate all things hit and connect at some level. They all hang together. And I love discussion and I love connecting information. And it becomes hard in lecture base classes because the teachers don't like when someone like myself comes in with rather controversial ideas, or ideas that question a teacher's very own knowledge.
There will always be smeone smarter than me I know this. I know I am not the only smart person around. But its my appetite for knowledge that probably annoys people the most.
As hard as it may be you may need to just be quiet sometimes. I totally believe in arguing your perspective but in the type of situation where it might effect your grades opt for a little give and take.
Question things, but with a little less frequency.
Does it get harder not to nearer the end of the lesson? If so, perhaps your attention span is playing a part in this (which is something I have issues with). If that is the case a calming herb like the one I mentioned, some melatonin or gaba might help with concentration.

Usually my filter begins to wear down after a while.
I'm not very good at being outside. I get very tired very easily when it comes to socializing. Its never the knowledge that makes me tired. Its having to work in groups and having to work with people and socialize.
And I also get really really excited I think when it comes to learning. Cause I remember when I was with my dad and we'd watch documentaries together. I'd get to ask him questions and we'd discuss what was going on, we'd discuss our opinions and our ideas.
So when I learn something new or am really into a subject when it comes to class, I get really excited and get really passionate. And want to say like a million things and I want to participate so much I think its suffocating sometimes. But I love the environment of learning. That sounds really weird.
But the teachers have to fit a certain curriculum or time. And I just grrr...lol.
