Introduction to Algebra: Any tips?

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for an aspie on learning Introduction to Algebra in college?

The course is done online with self-help (not a good thing for me.)
I am working on a module that works with the FOIL method.

Share some tips if you can please, I would really like to pass, but it's hard because I can't get or understand the numbers very well.

I won't be much help, but With the foil method, I find it helps if you physically draw 4 lines between the brackets, if that is possible. Also remember at all times
[+] times [+] = +
[+] times [-] = -
[-] times [-] = +
And you'll be ok. (sorry if you already know all of that, but it's the things that I always struggled with to start with.

I just recently completed a hybrid college math course. HW/Study plans on line and a real time class once a week. I got an A for the course and it helped that I did ALL the online study plan problems and everything else that popped up. My key learning experience is that I do well with repetition. Doing the all the problems helped cement the formulas to solve the equations in my brain.
