I just need a job that I can have fun with little complaints. Doing the same for almost 12 years can be SUCH a drag especially since you've been doing the same job since high school. I'm much more capable than pushing carts and bagging groceries which is why I have been applying for decent jobs that you don't need a college diploma for. I'm going to apply for jobs where I can fix machines like DVDs, Video Games, and stereo systems. Does anybody know of any place I could apply for that are like what I'm talking about.

Pawn shops. They always need people to fix/check out DVD players, Playstations, etc. Other than that, there's lots of local PC stores/kiosk type places that repair computers and other hardware. You might be able to save some startup money to setup a place like that, if you don't find one in the area that'll take you on.

you could try and learn a legitimate trade dealing with fixing something or somethings, such as working on pianos, piano tuning, guitar tech, computer tech (A+ certification?) clock repair and maintenance, appliance repair and maintenence, etc.

I like the idea of starting a service business, such as repair, and economically running it out of your home or car, promoting it with websites and/or business cards.

And I personally don't think one needs to hire a CPA until you're either making a lot of money or until you hire your first employee.

Starting an computer repair company that makes any money is very difficult. The market is literally saturated with thousands of kids who can fix computers and hundreds of people who are running IT repair businesses.

It will be a real challenge to support yourself.

That is a big real issue. The best market that's not being penetrated is inner cities, ie, "the hood." Especially selling computers and technology there, people are desperate, and go to places that scam like Rent-A-Center usually out of direness or ignorance. If you can provide them with a better deal than that, then you're golden. You could sell computers agencies would throw out, ie, 1ghz Celerons or something, and just resell for 50-100 a pop, and there you go. The only problem with dealing with inner city people is you usually need pretty advanced social skills and a lot of balls. Your actual social skills don't matter, but you need to be crazy assertive. But, the inner city is a market relatively unpenetrated for computers and technology in general.

The only thing I can sugest is print out a bunch of resumes and go around to every place that could need a what you are looking for, and start asking.

I didn't want to be quite as blunt as that, but yes.
