I looked and couldn't really find a thread specifically for these games, so here is one!

The original DKC games were just before my time ... Super Mario 64 was my first game. So I never got to play them until the Wii came out and I could play them on VC. I'm not a mega fan of these games since they weren't part of my childhood, but for some people just a couple years older than me these games were their childhood. I do think that they are all really good games, but they don't have the nostalgia factor for me that the aforementioned Super Mario 64 does.

Here's my ranking of the games:

Iv'e got donkey kong country 1 and haven't even completed it, I ususally have to get heaps of lives off the first level so i can pass the later ones.

Donkey Kong 64=DKC 4

I got a perfect 100% in it back when it was new collecting everything in the game. I also bought and played through the first three DKC games on the Wii Virtual Console. The original was the only one I played through on the SNES.

I haven't played the new one yet by the way.

DKC is by default,because it is the only one that has been complete.I have DKC2 on VC but have not completed the game.

When will DK 64 get released for Xbox?

I never really cared for 2 or 3, but I played the heck out of the original game and the 64 game back when they came out. Kind of been itching to replay some of them lately.

Haven't played Returns yet.

I remember when Diddy Kong started wearing a Nintendo hat right after Microsoft bought Rare.

I completely finished the original DKC (101% IIRC) as a child and did most of DKC 2. Never really played DKC 3 though I now have it as I got a SNES recently. Just haven't played DKC 3 at all yet. But I absolutely love some of the soundtracks in DKC 2, especially that used in the brambles levels.

If all you're looking for is more lives, then here's something you can try. On the File Selection Screen (the one that says 1, 2, 3, and Erase Game), choose 'Erase Game'. With the 'Erase Game' option highlighted, press B, A, R, R, A, L. If you did this correctly you should hear a noise. Start playing on any file, and you'll get 50 lives.
