I found the origami killer and saved Shaun, but in the proccess I had Ethan drink the poison (thus he must have died, right?).

But in a cutscene right at the end, it showed Madison, Ethan and Shaun buying a new house together and being happy. Glitch, dream, poison not really lethal, etc...? :P

I did the same thing and remember being confused about that! But I guess I forgot about it. I was more wrapped up in my favorite character being a horrible murderer. T_T

That really doesn't make sense, though. hm.

I think it was just a game glitch/plot hole kind of thing. :/ For my own peace of mind though, I'm going to choose to believe that the poison wasn't lethal, because I loved the game and want the plot to 'fit'. :D

Yeah, that's what I was kind of thinking too. It's been a VERY long time since I beat the game, but since all Shelby really wanted was to make Ethan prove he was a good father, it really wouldn't make sense for the poison to be lethal, would it? I mean, a test you don't survive doesn't really teach you anything.

I can't remember if this was explained in every ending or just a select few but in one of the endings this was explained. I cannot remember exactly who said it or what since I've not played the game in months but I think the explanation was that the poison was not actually poison at all and it was simply (as the above user said) a test to see if he was willing to sacrifice himself to save his son.

It was not really Poison, just another trick from the Origami Killer to test Ethan to see how far he would go in saving his son.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
