World of Warcraft- Mists of Pandaria *trigger warning*
Did you ever have trouble justifying your ganking though? I used to restrict myself to guilds i didn't like / personal feuds/ i'd ask in local defence if people were having trouble. I'd stalk any ally i saw to see if they ganked low levels, then the moment they attacked i'd jump in. I got quite a reputation on my home realm for being a ganker though which was annoying, i preferred the label " ethical ganker"
Good to see that the legacy of STV lived on after Vanilla. Now, as for justifying ganking people? My own entertainment was all I needed, really. I would generally not mess with anyone more than 10 levels below me, that's about the only thing that would ever save you from my knives or a facemelting. And even then sometimes it was pretty lulzy to kill them anyway and then watch them log onto their mains for revenge. Skull dodging was another art of mine.
Now, IF you were in my level range, you would have probably hated me any time you stepped into an active contested zone. I was relentless. I would kill you, and kill you, and kill you. I would stalk you and camp your corpse until you either logged, spirit rezzed, or best of all....called for help. Then, when your help came, the hordies I had been chatting up in /1, warned that a bunch of pissed allis looking for a fight were liable to roll in soon, were ready to engage them in glorious, brutalizing world PvP. Tichondrius, f**k yea!
Well now I see where all of my effort went!
I wonder where the monk is gonna fit into everything. Between all of the current classes and the multitude of talent specs, what are monks supposed to be bringing that's new? I've seen the roll thing, but that's not really all that impressive...
For those that care: MOP release date has been revealed to be September 25th. There will be a physical collector's edition for the usual 79$ that includes the usual artbook, dvd, etc and a special pet and mount. Unlike previous collector's editions a digital download option will be available for 60$. If you want to just go for the regular digital edition (not sure on price) do not despair because you will be given the option later on to upgrade to the collector's edition for 20$.
Very glad to have a release date and I'm thankful its not November or December. Less than a month after GW2, I hope 5.0 hits relatively soon though.
Long long ago I used to play this game. It was awesome until I realized that all the really good content requires a guild/friends/PvP. But I don't wanna unload my MMO woes here.
To keep things positive ... umm ... I got a Hunter to level 70 back in the day and she was scary awesome. I even managed to luck out and get into a few raids and won some awesome gear. And oddly enough what I suspected was true. People will tolerate a bad sense of humor when the person spewing it is carrying a giant glowing epic hand cannon.
Alot has changed in WoW over the years. Raid finder has made raid content effectively available to individuals that do not have a guild or a large network of friends. Many people debate the merits of raid finder but, I've always been a champion of accessability of all content to the all players. The fact that anyone can easily access the "raid story line" is one of WoW best features.
I'm actually thinking about going this route in MoP. I've been hardcore end game raiding for over 5 years. About 2 months ago my most recent guild finally blew up after the guild leader bailed. We were 6/8 HM in DS working on Spine of Deathwing. Just a couple days ago I finally got to do a guild dethrone but, most of the players have moved on. So I'm temporarily in charge of a level 25 guild that is nearly empty. I don't know if I have it in me to pick up the pieces again and play at the same level as I have in the past. So my plan is to scale it back for a bit in MoP and see what happens.
I played WoW since vanilla. Played Cataclysm when it first came out and stopped awhile later. I have not played WoW in quite some time. I have the following characters of significance: (all of which are dual-spec capable) 85 Blood Elf Mage, an 85 Troll Priest, and an 85 Troll Warrior. (Double up on that Rasta..... MON...!) I raided back in the old days. I did not raid after TBC.. I doubt I will be playing Mists of Pandaria, as I do not have the time anymore. It's awesome that I have all my characters still. At least I will be allocating my time towards a good cause. I would like to try Mists of Pandaria, but that is not very realistic for me at this time in my life.

Haha, that was entertaining, takes me right back. Well, i did actually hang around with your type of player, i got dragged into it enough. I never really lacked for pvp, it's just i felt a whole lot better when i thought the people i was ganking deserved it.
I did become hated by allies but it wasn't quite for the same thing, although someone killing you repeatedly is enough and most of them never even considered that they were bringing it on themselves. I always used to keep an eye on world defence and the moment someone started attacking somewhere, within x amount of minutes i'd turn up. People even actually used to talk about it on the forums. Tarren mill was a favorite haunt i guess, it was where i first got ganked myself and in burning crusade it was a real hotspot for level 70 allies coming to test out their new gear by ganking some low level, and then with most horde being in outland there weren't ever many 70s around so they were basically defenseless. Many times i'd kill multiple people attacking a town with a nice bit of timing ( stealth is awesome). I'd just follow them around and then when someone from a group straggled i'd nuke them and then restealth.
I actually got told that i was the most hated player on horde for burning crusade, for being hard to kill basically

It's a non stealth rogue for the melee spec imo

I never gained much fame on my priest, but I WAS notable enough during STV while leveling up my rogue, Surprise. "Just a warning guys, there's liable to be quite a few Allis over by Nesingway's camp soon." "Lol Surprise, you camping some poor alli bastard again?" ""
Tarren Mill was the go-to spot for World PvP back before we had BGs. Southshore and TM were reasonably close to each other and easy to get to, so it provided the perfect killing field.
...that said, doing all of those Horde quests in Hillsbrad was a gankfest. Allis just LOVED to use all the nearby friendly mobs to their advantage while they ganked the crap out of anyone that would DARE do those quests.
Bahahaha, well done! Unfortunately, it would have been impossible to cultivate such a reputation for merely killing people on Tich. Heavily-populated server, famous for it's vicious inhabitants and PvP since day one. The server motto was "Tichondrius is not for you." If you think anything I've said sounds mean? I was considered one of the NICE ones, since I didn't even teabag your corpse after I killed you! (I danced instead, lulz)
Now, for the monk thing............tbh, sounds boring! They really didn't need a new class imo....
