I'll try not to but so far statistics for conservatives and/or libertarians on WP isn't good. Two are confirmed racists, two are confirmed non-racists, and one I'm up in the air about. 40% racist doesn't give a very glamorous impression.

Yea. I guess you're right. According to many on the right compassion is a sign of weakness. Greed and selfishness is strength. As far as I'm concerned greed and selfishness don't need to be encouraged through a political ideology as they seem to happen naturally enough in our species.

Another thing I don't get is why people on the right think they're so hard by calling people on the left "whiners". Maybe we wouldn't be "whiners" anymore if we started carrying guns more at political rallies. We need to start sending our own message of fear and violence to keep them from getting too uppity. Screw pacifism. You know, I think I've finally figured out why so many of them hate black people. Black people have guns and know how to get angry and start riots. They're more of a threat to them than sissy white liberals.

Oh no, I'm so scared (sigh.) Just be careful not to get your thumb or fingers caught in the chamber when you have the bolt drawn back. I'd not want you dainties to accidentally lose a precious typing digit. Also be sure not to place your eye directly behind the charging handle as you are firing, as I'd not want you to get blinded on recoil. Besides that, have fun at the range.

That's most commonly a problem with the M1 Garand, which is Far too manly of a gun for your standard issue limp-wristed liberal. Perhaps you should start them out with a Crickett .22 short with a muzzle brake and a good recoil pad.

Bah, the absolute worst thing to get your finger caught in is a Browning Auto 5 shotgun; that sucker has a 35 pound return spring, a sharp hooked extractor, and the bolt is released by a catch inside the chamber area. Sticking your finger in one of those is liable to land you in the ER having your fingernail removed and the damage the extractor did when it was ripped back out repaired; this was a very feared injury when I was in gunsmith's school.

Not where you live, Maryland/DC has some of the strictest/screwiest gun laws in the country. In most of America though, AR-15s are totally legal, they're just considered a semi automatic rifle. They get a bad rep because they're scary looking to some people with all the black plastic parts and what not, despite being functionally identical to other less menacing looking rifles such as the Ruger Mini 14.

Ironically enough, the M1 they are talking about is also a semi automatic rifle firing a much more powerful round, the biggest edge an AR 15 has over an M1 Garand is that the AR feeds from a 30 round detachable magazine while the M1 uses an 8 round en bloc charger to reload. Which one is better really depends upon the purpose, an M1 can reach out to 1000 yards and still pack a hell of a punch but lacks magazine capacity, recoils heavily, and a is long and cumbersome; the AR is designed for use up to 500 yards (800 with proper ammo), is light and handy, but fires a light round that lacks wounding potential and penetration capability. They're like specialized tools, neither is really "better", they're just designed for different purposes. Basically if you're going after a guy with an M1 and you've got an AR, just hope he doesn't see you first...

Ronald Regan was a much more experienced politician and statesman who didn't have the kind of personality problems Obama has. Unlike Regan, Obama will keep on believing he is right and that he is a genius and that the American public is too dense to recognize it.

What about an M1A? The M1 Garand just sounds too clumsy and too expensive, nothing but a showy relic. Not a good weapon for purposes of arming the proletariat for a leftist revolt against the tea-partiers. A combination of M1As and AR-15s might do the trick.

I wish you luck trying to out-gun the tea party and using a 1-dimensional strategy to defeat them. You're going to need it!

I don't believe a bunch of rednecks will have superior combat experience just because they know how to guzzle budweisers all day long in a tree perch and unload a 30 caliber clip into some hapless flower sniffing bambi that happens to wander by. It's not like you guys hunt animals that can shoot back at you.
