In an alternative reality the U.S. launches two probes to Mars: Rape and Plunder. After a few years Rape is spent, but Plunder keeps on trekking.

Just a whimsical thought. I often refer to Spirit and Opportunity as Rape and Plunder. I think we should have named the Apollo Rocket von Braun's Revenge. Revenge 17 would have been our last trip to the Moon.
