This might be just a question for out-of-box thinkers, since the question itself resides safely in the out-of-box realms.

I recently came across this article: #2. Being Cynical About Other People Costs You Money Read more: 5 Mind-Blowingly Valuable Things Hidden in Everyday Life | Cracked.com http://www.cracked.com/article_20015_5- ... ryday-life

What I found striking is the mob isn't always right when they tell you what to do. In the last line, the author of the article makes a jab at listening to your intuition, but as we have all likely experienced, sometimes you have a feeling, and sometimes it's hard to know who is right: your intuition or everyone telling you to do something else. But what makes the masses so wise? Sometimes, like in the above example, they might be collectively correct, but how often does this work? Only when the data can be measured by quantitatively? When it comes to wisdom or common sense this is colored by cultural biases.

So, just how valuable is this "gem" the author suggests?
