Antonis Samaras, the leader of the New Democracy party, which won Sunday's election, has been sworn in as the country's new prime minister.
The ceremony came shortly after he agreed a coalition government with the Socialists (Pasok) and the smaller leftist party, the Democratic Left.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-18524252I guess this was the last election for a while.
At least for the next few months at least. I can't imagine a government can remain stable for very long tho. More than 50% of the people still voted against these pro-bail out parties.
Exactly, despite New Democracy and Pasok being called the 'pro-bailout' parties New Democracy campaigned on a 'no more cuts' platform and Pasok campaigned promising to renegotiate all the nasty bits they have already agreed to.
Given that 60% of the electorate voted for far more extreme anti austerity measures, if New Democracy & Pasok don't manage a monumental renegotiation then Athens is going to burn again.
