Tim Scott is the representative from South Carolina who is succeeding Jim DeMint in the Senate.

One of the guys running for his old house seat is none other than...Mark Sanford!

Here's the kicker: His ex-wife Jenny is also running for the same seat.

Mark Sanford is engaged to his Argentinian mistress. I guess the heart wants what it wants, though.

Mark Sanford is a good man, he'd be one of our finer congressman.

On top of that, who doesn't appreciate a gorgeous piece of Latina ass? Seriously: even in South Carolina.

This will certainly go a long way towards increasing the Hispanic vote for Republicans.

Plus, having recently immigrated his new wife, Congressman Sanford will have some valuable insights into what's needed for immigration reform.

The only downside: if Jenny ever decides to marry again, or even to play the cougar and commit coitus with another man, then Mark will be held as guilty for having caused her to commit adultery. This is one issue that South Carolinians take very seriously.

But, meh, not likely to happen, anyway.

Ah, South Carolina, always a source of hilarity.

He also has very spindly legs. Thinner than his hawt new wife's legs, although probably not as thin as the old hag's. These don't look like the legs of someone who actually hikes in the Appalachian trails. When he gets to DC, he should take up bicycling. Build up a little strength when he isn't shagging.

Sanford actually appears to love this woman, they are now engaged. I don't agree that is based out of some perversion. It's not as if he used his position of power to take advantage of some intern or visited a prostitute. He misappropriated state funds which is serious but in the grand scheme of misappropriation of funds legal or illegal, it is relatively minor. The lying of his staff about his whereabouts was unacceptable as governor but understandable given the standards public figures are held to. I would not hold his personal life against him in future elections.

There were more than a few members of the GOP establishment that were happy about Governor Sanford's fall from grace. He was a fiscal conservative that put his money where his mouth is, at the time of his affair he was engaged in a lawsuit with his own legislature over his refusal of $700 million in stimulus money. Before his affair, he was one of the leading prospects for the 2012 GOP nomination. He supported term limits and left like he said he would. He would of been a much better candidate than Mitt Romney. Sanford is no Ron Paul but there were many times where they were the only dissenting voices against a particular bill. If there was a 433-2 vote during their time together in congress, chances are it was Mark Sanford and Ron Paul. Ron is now leaving congress as is Dennis Kucinich despite my many disagreements, we're going to need a few Mark Sanfords in congress to bridge that absence. Maybe its wishful thinking on my part but I hope that Sanford's affair and political downfall will only make him in his comeback less accountable and pressured from the establishment forces of his party.

Here is the story of his engagement:

http://www.clarin.com/sociedad/gobernad ... 24070.html

Quote:

The got engaged on a Wednesday at noon (some time last August, based on the date of the report) in the Bella Italia Grill, which is in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, and which is one of Belén Chapur's favourite restaurants. Mark gave a bag containing the ring to a waiter, and asked the waiter to make up a good story for his girlfriend. He then locked himself in the handicapped bathroom and waited for her for more than an hour (what the Hell?).

When Belén Chapur arrived, the waiter approached her and told her that she had won a prize for being the hundredth customer of the day. She opened the bag and found the ring. She was worried. Mark appeared and declared his love for her.

After that followed a long time of kisses, tears and emotions. There were sentimental words and promises for eternity.

Aw, how sweet.

So, I gather that his sweetie remains in Argentina, awaiting her fiancée visa, which could still take another year.

he cheated on his wife with a homewrecker. nothing more to it than that. what part of "til death us do part" stopped applying here? where is the loyalty? this makes him a cynical hypocrite, for continuing to belong to a party which makes such a big bluenosed stink about their blinkered view of "traditional values" morality. his type makes me wanna hurl. :x

On top of that: only a Republican would hog a handicapped toilet stall for over an hour. Either he had some serious blockage, or he was looking for some homosexual action. Which is more likely, for a Republican politician? :chin:
