Physicist? Chemist? No, not really. Being smart with atoms means nothing about knowing anything about how society works. Heck, for being such a great physicist, many economists look back on Einstein's economic thoughts and consider them nonsense. At least a career politician might listen to his corrupt backers a little in order to set some not completely rotten economic policy.

Don't you get the fact that how well a speaker sways an audience carries over nothing as to how well they can rule?

Given the cult of Reagan, and how many people swear that Reagan was a good Republican economic president despite creating massive government deficits and increasing the size of government, I would say that the evidence speaks otherwise. Although, perhaps I am just being cynical there.

Furthermore, why is experience in politics a good thing anyway? Career politicians usually end up being crooks and swindlers. I think a person who isn't like that would make a refreshing change.

Ever watch Mr. Smith goes to Washington? Well, an inexperienced politician would be like Mr. Smith in the best case, and unlike our hero in the movie basically would fail to get anything accomplished because nobody would sacrifice themselves for him. Heck, if you remember from the movie, the reason why Mr. Smith won his battle was due to political connections in a sense. At least an experienced person will be able to work the system to some benefit, as politicians at least are not stupid and blatant crooks and swindlers, and more like parasites; they want to keep the host alive in order to feed off of him more.

Everyone seems to be saying Obama doesn't have a lot of experience, but I have to wonder exactly what sort of experience Hillary has either. She has only been in congress since 2002 and she has not held any political office before then. So how exactly is Hillary more experienced in politics than Obama?

I don't consider Hillary any better qualified than Obama.

What should the qualifications be for a human wanting authority over a multitude and which ones specifically are these two lacking? I see the quality of seeking power as something anathema to good leadership. True though, that is just the system, but it still seems inherently wrong to me.

Well, I don't see how you propose to put people in power who never sought the job. A lottery system to decide members of Congress could do that, but probably with sub-optimal results.

From my leaders, the first thing I want is honesty. From there, we can debate specific policy issues. But such a debate is pointless without honesty.

Nearly 60% think Obama is going to be President. That is pretty amazing.
