An interesting article I found, about two Palestinians that married after meeting in Massachusetts, but may have never met each other any other way even though they live 30 miles apart.

Not All Israeli Citizens Are Equal

Many interesting tidbits stated in this article. All should read.

Indeed. And insofar as it tells one side of the story, it is an important factor to understand.

Israeli policy with respect to the occupied territories is profoundly troubled, and will continue to be until a two-state solution is established.

But let's be clear that the disparity of treatment is not between two different Israeli citizens, but rather between the foreigners that they choose to marry. A Palestinian Israeli citizen who chooses to marry a Palestinian who is a citizen of Jordan, or Lebanon, or another Palestinian Israeli faces no such barriers. An Israeli Jew who chooses to marry a stateless Palestinian faces precisely the same barriers.

And were that Palestinian to marry an Israeli Jew, what would be the status of that Israeli Jew within the civil jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority? Can either side claim to have clean hands in this matter?

I can see how many people are viewed as being crazy over there, I don't know how I would hold up in such circumstances, and I'm not sure being docile in such circumstances is a virtuous thing to strive for if I were in their shoes.

It's just what Israel has to do to prevent the Palestinians from using a "seed and breed" strategy to take the whole region over. If only the US would get that proactive...

That's why they are building the worlds largest detention center.

Report: Israel to build largest detention facility in world

Quote:
According to a report published by The Independent daily on Saturday, the detention center will have the capacity to hold “8,000 migrants.” ...Israeli officials claimed that “reasonably humane conditions” will be provided in the vast detention center.

Also to contain all those relatives of Shem too.

Well at least they'll be treated in "reasonably humane" fashion Image

With all due apologies to Israeli WP members, Israeli settlers use the same "seed and breed" strategy in the West Bank territories, and when the Palestinians get angy about it, the Israeli army gets called in to quell the unrest. --Ironic, isn't it?

Also, FWIW, here's a video from an ultra-orthadox neighborhood in Jerusalem:

Palestinians are really unequal

Israeli settler shoots Palestinian in West Bank

Quote:
Residents said about 25 settlers, some of them carrying guns, set fire to wheat fields in the village of Orif, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

These stories are going to get more numerous.

Visagrunt mentions that these stories only tell one side, so I'm expecting someone to show what it is.
