This is just sickening. How could a jail cell reach this temperature?

Jails are basically seals buildings (many other places such as newer schools and libraries have the same issue). Therefore, if the heater goes full blast and does not shut off, it would be easy for a jail to reach those temps. Especially if they are overcrowded so human heat is adding to that. Just to give you an idea, the Mall of America in Minneapolis has no heating system what so ever and the lowest the temperature gets in there is 65 degrees on the morning after Christmas when the mall has been closed for almost 48 hours.

Interesting though that this guy was in a special observation unit where they are suppose to be monitored and still this happened. Someone will lose their job I am sure but nothing will change other than that.

Not entirely correct. You can't have a building in Minnesota with no heat. California or Florida yes, but Minnesota, no. The stores in the mall have heat, and the entrances and ground level areas have heat. Thats pretty standard. I don't think it would even be possible to heat large common areas in a building like that, and it certainly would not be necessary. As long as cold air doesn't get in and heat doesn't escape, it will stay warm.

That tent prison in AZ run by who is it? Sheriff Joe I think has them housed in tents in 110+ heat and higher in the summer. They don't think twice about it and I would guess if they lost some they wouldn't really care either. He is a rather intolerant individual IMHO.

When I was a teen in Little Rock we had a wing nut county sheriff that handcuffed a bunch of prisoners to a fence in the hot sun. This guy was a real ass.
