Another missing young autie

Fortunately, he was located within a few hours. :D :D An 8 year old who can't talk and who functions at a 3 yo level, AND who wanders away from home regularly. More and more cops are seeing scenarios like this one. Fortunately this time he was ok, but South Watt Avenue, a busy road, runs on one side of the Rosemont housing development, and auties have been known to be attracted to busy roads. Watt is traversed regularly by huge big rigs, the type of vehicle that wouldn't be able to stop if a kid ran out in front of them suddenly. Plus, the American River isn't that far away.

I hope his parents can exert more control over him in the future.

They should mandate GPS devices be placed on kids who are known to wander.

theres a lot of problems with that

you pretty much just gave the government a green light to track everyone

Of course, waivers must be signed, etc.

I don't think this will lead to laws stating that everyone must carry GPS devices (even though many do, through their phones).

I think mandating GPS devices for kids who wander will probably save lives and save heartache for parents.

I wonder how soon before the powers that be start talking about implants like a supercharged kind of RFID that send out signals notifying others where they are at, at all times?
