US citizenship is number 35 on most desirable passport list

Of the most desirable passports in the world, the US is number 35, tied with Slovenia. Sweden is the most sought after.

The reason why US passports are not desirable is worsening reputation of the US, lots of travel restrictions, burdensome regulations for citizens living abroad, and of course citizenship-based taxation (where no matter how long you've been out of the country you must still file and pay taxes every year). Because of that, a lot of people are passing US passports up:

Not surprising really. The socialist Scandinavian countries have always been more amenable to outsiders. They are a tad more civilized than Americans.
