In one of the least defensible actions of the Trump Administration, they have been deleting scientific data, presumably because it doesn't support their worldview:

There was a massive effort to back it all up, but some stuff probably did not get backed up, and is now lost forever.

Gee, thanks, Trump. [/sarc]

This person is embarrassing himself, and his agency.

All valuable data should be backed-up immediately.

If Trump is actually ordering this, this is more an "impeachable" offense than the apparent Russian collusion.

This is 1984, Big Brother stuff if this is occurring. I don't care what anybody else says.

They're floating a plan to sell off natural resources, in order to cover an odious, national debt. So, there is a political reason, for the purge, which has nothing to do with his worldview, imo. Say 'Murica, coddle minorities, and both sides are satisfied with that.

Deleting data? I think you have Trump confused with his predecessor.

I find it a little hard to believe that scientists don't keep their own records and trust all their research data to be kept safe on a government website or on some obscure archiving site they have to go digging for.

The problem with all the massive amount of melodrama, hyperbole and sensationalism that gets generated where Trump is concerned, is everything like this gets suspected of being the same and at best gets taken with a grain of salt.
