LITITZ, Pa. - Cameron Smith used to get irritated when his classmates would ignore what he was saying and change the subject during conversations at school.

But now, Cameron, a seventh-grader at Warwick Middle School, knows "it's not their fault."

"I learned to let them keep talking because, eventually, they'll run out of things to say," the 12-year-old said.

That is really cool. I am glad the understanding of the disorder is spreading. Good for everybody cause within my lifetime the chances of an individual having an ASD went from 1:10,000::1:166.

I think that it's about time. They didn't have Autism Training, in 80s and 90s, when I was going to school. I think that this is a change, in the right direction. :)

I think it's good if the training is done right. They should teach children to respect and be tolerant of everyone who is different even if the other person doesn't have a label such as autism, mental retardation, ADHD, etc.
