A group of local men braved dangerous broken ice and frigid waters in a fibreglass speedboat to rescue a pod of dolphins and help them back to open water, the mayor of Seal Cove, N.L., said Thursday.

This seems like a great story until you listen to experts who say that of the the three dolphins "saved" it is very likely that none actually survived because of the method of their rescue being dragged by a speed boat probably left them so in shock that they were unable to find their way back to more livable conditions.

It seems like a cute story and even if by some miracle the dolphins survived it is hardly a good idea to set the pecident that non specialists should be doing whatever they think will fix a problem in nature because they end up agrivating the situation.

Well that's extremely negative and depressing. :( and they didn't "drag" any of them. All of them but one followed the boat out to the water. One one was put on a harness, and that was because he was too weak to swim himself.
