Your tounge? Could be painful, whatever that is.

Epistemology... Where does one start? And how does one know that is where one starts?

Have you tried
"Truth: A History and a Guide for the Perplexed"

What particular problems are you having?
(In the broadest of terms, for preference)

Strange that a mechanical type guy would have that much trouble with the study of urinals, but couldn't you just use a regular toilet instead?

Did you say that wasn't proper? Did you march out on the track?
You were quiet, just like mice. And now you say that we're not nice.
Well thank you buddy for your advice...

I simply believe that reality exists and it is observable by our senses. It has worked for my purposes so far.

Most places, most times, yes.

But I've had enough examples when it has failed, or appeared to fail, to become aware of what an enormous assumption is being made.

The pocket version of "reality" is handy and portable, but it leaves quite a lot out.

The assumption is enormous to some extent, however, there are few better assumptions than that reality exists and that we experience the real reality. After all, if we do not accept those 2 assumptions then what can we really derive from our existence in order to guide our lives? Not much, as we get most information about our world through our senses. I would say that by accepting those 2 premises as true we can have both life and logic, which are the foundation for our success.

I don't get why you're biting your tongue? :? Do you know that you are biting ... or or know how to .... ?

What's that go to do with epistemology?

Don't know if its on the same track, I have mentioned in other posts one of my favourite books, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" which conctains some philisophical thoughts of a motorcycle enthusiast and schiztophrenic academic while he rides accross the USA with his son. Was on the NY Best Seller list in the 80's.

You may enjoy it.
