^ Like the Himalayan monks who dry wet sheets with their body heat. And stand outside meditating all night, without any ill effects.
I do not know if either of those anecdotes are true, but I wouldn't put anything past the power of proper meditation and enlightenment.
I have been trying a similar practice with my ankle. No painkillers, just be aware of the pain, accept it.
So far so OKish

Guid morning, all.
@Rachey: how did the hearing go?
I got a verbal warning for absence at work (the aforementioned injury). I can appeal and I think I will.
Worst part of it was having to keep eye contact for an hour.
And answering questions about myself.
I didn't answer the way I was meant to, which meant even more questions.
And the room was too small and the notetaker was too slow, and when we adjourned I had to wait in the canteen, which was just ugh. People eating, and changing the tv channel every 5 seconds, and talking over each other, and eating again. Not rachey-friendly.
*and breathe*
Anyway, I'm home now.
Good morning to you, too.
Surely you'd want to lower your body temperature in Oz?
