Gun Ownership Poll
No, I've never owned a real gun, but I used to have an air soft gun and still have an air rifle (which I haven't practiced with for many years).

Being a minor, I'm not legally allowed to own a gun. However I do plan to own one as an adult for protection and due to interest. That is, if they're still legal by the time I'm old enough. I really only want a pistol but since I'll have to wait until 21 for that I might get myself a long gun too at 18 just to tide me over lol

But, for the conversational window shoppers, I own a SIG Sauer P229 Nitron Compact .357 SIG pistol (which, whenever I would use it at a nearby indoor range, caused everyone at the range to lean back just slightly to see who owned the "hand cannon"). I also own a SIG Sauer SIGM400 Enhanced 5.56x45mm/.223 rifle. But, I am so busy these days, it has been years since I had the time to go to any ranges.
Funny that this topic should be resurrected just when my life has eased up a bit. I am reinvestigating the two sports in my life: taekwondo and shooting sports. I bet I would still fit into my taekwondo dobok from when I was 13 and 14 years of age ... if I could just remember where I stored it.

Are Aspies/AS allowed in the Swedish military?
n some countries, you can't just rchase one (except for maby air rifles).
I've thought about joining up and learning with some seasoned hunters, then getting a hunters license and some useful rifle, but living in the city with no vehicle it is too much hassle travelling to the north of Sweden and maintaining that license. I bought "The Hunter - call of the wild" instead on steam
I had some experience with weapons at my previous job (Armed forces), while it was fun to squeeze of a few rounds, i only saw it as a tool.[/quote]

That it is. And, a serious one to boot.
I know that Santa Cruz has a Pink Pistols chapter (or did; San Francisco does certainly). While they are LGBT-friendly, they welcome everyone at their monthly range visits.
It might be fun for you to attend if only to watch and socialize. Tell them that the former owner of Stonewall Shooting Sports of Utah vouches for you.

Yes. But generally we do not work not as camo wearing soldiers. I worked as a civilian specialist and a few years ago it was decided that every civilian should have combatant training, fire fighting skills and trauma/first aid, so we spent some time making holes in targets, putting out fires with extinguishers and learning to move injured people.
Also, due to my beard that breaks isolation, i now know what tear gas smells like Protip: If there ever is a war, shave your chin clean from hair. While i was there i learned of an officer who was officially diagnosed, and i ran into a few other non-diagnosed people who clearly was on the spectrum.
While there is no implicit ban on Aspergers, people with ADHD are exempt from signing up.

Hey Ichinin.
Could you take a look at this and tell me if this is still the case?

I'm bored out of my skull, let's play a different game. Let's pay a visit down below and cast the world in flame.
Semi-Auto .22 Remington rifle just for target shooting with cheap ammo. It wound up in storage though as I got a job that requires travel and I've been to busy to mess with it.
Semi-Auto 12 gauge Remington shotgun. Originally my grandpa's and it's mine if I want it. Again though like the rifle it sits in storage.
Also want to add that when I say storage it is in a locked gun safe, not just sitting in the back of a closet somewhere.
People are "running amok" with firearms in the United Kingdom. It is just that they are disguised or hidden. Every reported shooting in the United Kingdom proves that firearms are plentiful. One of the world's fantasies is the notion that island nations can prohibit certain people, things and ideas at their shores. Meanwhile, the royals have one of the world's largest arsenals. I would be more concerned about them.
Alternatively, many nations haven't a problem with illegal firearms precisely because their populace have plenty of legal firearms. Criminals know and admit this, and tend to avoid places where owners of legal firearms are abundant. Governments may then turn their attention to more weighty matters like lowering taxes and creating jobs.
By way of example, my state government allows legal concealed and unconcealed firearms within its government offices. Our state's largest newspaper published a 2007 color image of me testifying at a Utah Senate Education Standing Committee hearing about legalizing firearms at college and university dormitories. I supported an amendment which provided for students to opt out of living with an armed student if they chose to do so. Such a creative and simple solution, and the amendment was adopted!
While an openly gay senator, who was an acquaintance of mine, asked if I was concerned about possibly causing fear among members of the committee and other citizens sitting in the audience. I reminded him that the Utah Legislature had adopted a rule years before which allowed legislators and any other individual in the Capitol Building to possess a legal firearm. When he pressed the point, I asked him if anyone had left the hearing or voiced concern. He admitted that no one seemed to care. I noticed other legislators smiling apparently because I had "schooled" my senator friend about a matter he invited.

If you are planning to go to college, many universities have thriving shooting-sports teams. I have known many who got so good that they received scholarship money.
