Of course I hate it! I don't have a license yet so I'm dependent on my chronically tardy mother for car rides. It drives me crazy. She always leaves at least half and hour after she should. I would "just learn how to drive" as my sister suggests, but I don't have the attentiveness for it  She's always late though. She doesn't wear a watch or carry a phone, so she's completely unaware of the inconveniences she creates.

Despise it - hate BEING late.

My wife has different standards - she wants to reach an appointment a minute before the time and enter a social gathering ten minutes after it starts - or more.

I need to arrive at LEAST 15 minutes before time so I can walk in ON time.

I had a colleague at the U once who when the bell rang for class start closed and locked the door. I totally understood - never had the nerve.

People being late is one of my biggest pet peeves. Seven thirty-five means seven thirty-five, damnit!

i don't mind people being a few minutes late.

what annoys me more is people who never seem to answer their cell phone so i can find out why and how long they're going to be late.

it's like being late annoys me a little, but then not answering their phone compounds that into super-annoyance.

'cause the whole entire point of cell phones is to be able to reach (or be reached by) someone anywhere, anytime. If you're going to shut it off, leave it lying around places, or otherwise find excuse to not answer 75% of the time then what's the f*****g point?! Might as well just have a land-line then.

I start getting annoyed when people are more than about 3 minutes late. I am really particular about times though.....................

If I've been waiting for a very long time, then yes, I would really hate it to the point that it would used to make me cry and sulk all day.

It annoys me when people are late, but I can deal with it. What is worse is when other people cause ME to be late. If I say I am going to be somewhere at a certain time, I will be there before that time, if only just a minute or so before. Someone else causing me to be late reflects poorly on me to the person with whom I scheduled the time. I become incredibly irritable.

I will have a full-on meltdown over being late. It causes me a great deal of anxiety. If I cant find something at the last minute, like keys or my purse, I will just melt right down.

I don't like when people are late. I don't like being late in me. It's this thing I fight with. Because I'm often late. So I have some sympathy for people.

Absolutely HATE being late! If I know I am going to be late sometimes feel queasy and upset with myself!

I would rather call and re-schedule an appointment, than arrive there 15 minutes late... pathetic huh? :P

Not so with people in general if it's within reason.

I'm obsessively punctual though ,and tick like a Swiss watch.
In my past if something went awry(lost whatever); the anxiety could escalate into panic.
I seemed to have lost this now.

Drives me right 'round the twist.

The the internal monologue starts

Quote:
"Do I have the date right?"
"Do I have the time right?"
"Did someone cancel the meeting after I left the house?"
"Does xxx have a cell phone so that I can send a text message?"
....

GAH!
